  2. order Salmoniformes, of slender, freshwater 
  3. bony FISH with a narrow pointed head and 
  4. sharp, pointed teeth. The northern pike Esox 
  5. lucius, of North America and Eurasia, may 
  6. reach 2.2m (7ft) and 9kg (20lb).
